About
IT Freelance with 10+ years of Java and AWS experience, seeking opportunities as Tech Lead, Team Lead, Software Architect, or startup CTO in Brussels. I have led software engineering teams at industry leaders (Amazon, BNP Paribas) and fast-scaling startups (Take Eat Easy, Darts-IP) — running microservices architecture at scale dispatching real-time food delivery orders to handling trillions worth of financial transactions per year at Amazon.
Experience
Architect of a team of 15 developers fully rebuilding monespace.wallonie.be — the Walloon government's citizen-facing platform — on a modern serverless AWS architecture. Designing and delivering a distributed, event-driven system from the ground up for SPW (Service Public de Wallonie).
Led a transversal team of 6 senior developers & tech leads, driving the migration of 200 applications across 70 teams to Cloud Native. Also guided the Toolchain team (6 DevOps engineers) delivering CI/CD platform services on Azure DevOps for all BNPP Asset Management.
Team Lead in Amazon's eCommerce Financial Integration org (eCFI), handling trillions in transactions across all Amazon businesses (Retail, Prime, AWS, Twitch, Kindle) at 30,000 transactions/second. Designed and operated guaranteed, accurate financial reporting services at planetary scale.
Largest global database for intellectual property caselaw. Introduced DevOps culture (CI, ELK, SonarQube, code review), migrated the main application to cloud (GCP & AWS), applied ML to automate case law analysis, and mentored junior developers.
Co-founded a food delivery startup and built the engineering org from scratch to 20 people. Shipped the full platform: customer apps, courier dispatch algorithm, restaurant tablet app, and internal tooling. Reached 750k monthly users and 5M€+ monthly transactions before scaling ended operations.
Analysis, development and deployment of the RBPC driving licence project at GOCA. Also built the first iPad app at Arhs for real-time tracking during practical driving examinations.
Developed, tested and integrated a semi-automatic Bayesian classifier for their document management system (DocCenter).
